About the Book

While living in Córdoba in fascist Spain in 1974, I became involved with the local flamenco scene and spent all my free evenings with a group of gitanos who gathered to sing and dance at a local
tavern. By day I taught English to upper class Spaniards at an elite British language academy.
My position as a foreigner gave me access to very different social circles and as a non-judgmental outsider, I absorbed their intimate stories of seduction and forbidden sexual encounters. The secrets I learned allowed me to piece together the probable story of an unrecorded honor killing that took place in my neighborhood just before I left.
